The internet was down at the shop for a few days so there hasn't been a post in a while, apologies for that.
The biggest thing that has happened recently has to be the Flip premier, it was only on friday but it feels like ages ago already, here is a little report on what happened, if you don't want to spoil the video then don't read anymore, the DVD will be available around the 15th of October.
The first Flip premier I went to was for the original Sorry at the Prince Charles Theatre in London, its a proper full size cinema and seeing it on a huge screen was rad so I understood when a few people were dubious when they heard extremely sorry was being held in a nightclub no one had heard of, and they weren't playing the video til half ten!
We scooted up to get there for about half nine and after getting past the five doormen and metal detector to get in we were faced with a whose who of british skateboarding all waiting for the video, Nick Death, Steak, Ben Nordberg, Neil Smith, Vaughan Baker and Paul Shier were all milling about but it wasn't til we left we heard Lance Mountain had been there too!
After Darren bought a warm Stella can for £4.50 we waited around for a bit before finally being let in to another room with a projector set up, the room filled up pretty quickly with excited skaters and the doors were closed, then we had a pretty stern speech saying if anyone at all was caught filming any of the screen, even on a phone, the whole video would be stopped! Some moron didn't take this seriously and was wrestled out of the premier by one of the owners of Flip, who had been travelling around to every premier with a single copy of the video in an attempt to stop piracy.
It has cost flip over £1,000,000 to make this video, if you consider all the hotel rooms, paying the pros, paying the filmer and editor, paying Baron to produce an entirely original soundtrack, it all adds up! It is estimated that they will need to sell 100,000 copies in order to recoup their expenses!
It is pretty much guaranteed that one of the Flip riders is up in your favourite skaters list, they have a team of some of the best skaters in the world, so if you want to show them some respect for the inspiration they provide you with videos like this, then you should definitely buy a copy! You really need to see this on a proper screen at a proper resolution, watching a bootleg version is just gonna ruin it for you.
Anyway, the video starts off with a Shane Cross section of bangers including the nose grind down El Toro which was rumored to only be a photo, I thought that was gonna be it but then it breaks into a full section from Shane, they had really been keeping it under wraps and the skating is really good, Shane would definitely be one of the best skaters out there at the moment if he was still with us.
Geoff Rowley has a pretty bangin section with some rad road gap to hangups that you need to see to appreciate, and all the footage of the ridiculous ads he has had for the past few years, one criticism I would have had is that you sort of knew what was coming because a lot of its been ads, but the skateboarding was ridiculous never the less.
Little man Louie Lopez has a pretty rad part and does some man sized stuff for such a small fella and has a good choice in tricks. It seemed like Rodrigo TX surprised a lot of people with a really strong section, he seems a bit underrated in the U.K. and he kills a bunch of Barcelona spots with some seriously huge switch pop.
Ali Boulala has a section with a few bangers in but obviously people weren't expecting too much due to him being in jail, ollieing the Macba four in clogs seemed to be a crowd favourite! Rune has a pretty sick section which seemed a little short compared to his Sorry part, but the quality of what there was was ridiculous, I would say you may have seen a lot of it in Thrasher but it doesn't seem like kids read the mags these days! The oververt tailslide is one the sickest things in his part. Luan, who I have been hyping up for ages, has a really solid part, not many NBD's but everything he does is super stylish and clean, and the switch crook fakie bigspin flip out ender is buttery beyond belief, definitely one of the best sections.
Appleyard seemed to be a crowd favourite as his part started, and he does do some amazing stuff, nollie biggerspins over bins and nollie big heel down Macba, but again a few people seemed to think his part could have been longer and stronger.
Tom Penny is a U.K. legend but i'm not sure if people were expecting much from him, he has been really low key for years while skateboarding has been progressing really really fast and while the current trend of bigger boards and smaller shoes seems to be making everyones tricks look really clean Penny still has huge shoes and smallish boards meaning there are a few tricks that look a bit sloppy as he has a few toe bars, some of the tricks are really clean though and its rad to have a new Penny section. Curran Caples has a pretty rad section but I think a lot of people still see him as a little kid, having said that his section was far from kiddy, massive street gaps which surprised a lot of people, and some really floaty transition stuff.
I have had to start a new paragraph in respect of Bob Burnquist, he comes through with the most progressive mega ramp part ever, I seriously thought Danny Way was ridiculous but Bob take things to a whole new level, the amount of people that skate vert is ridiculously small, but the amount of cheering and respect Bob had was amazing, I would like to point out some highlights but everything he does is ridiculous, switch flip fifty the rainbow rail, tre flip fifty, straight frontside flip (no grab) over the mega ramp gap! Just imagine doing a forty foot plus frontside flip! He frontside full cabs into the mega ramp quarter, which is insane, back 3 to manny over the gap, the list goes on and on, it is literally worth buying the video just for Bobs section, all the stuff at the X Games he was clearly just toying with while he was keeping all this ridiculous stuff under wraps. Did I mention the no grab 540 over the gap? or 15 ft straight switch frontside ollie with no grab out the mega quarter? Bob Burnquist we salute you sir!
David Gonzalez closes out the video and his part is amazing, he clearly has no regard for his personal safety as he flings himself down 25 stair rails, but he has the skill to pull it off too! By the time his part was on I was still buzzing from Bobs part and trying to take in all the ridiculous stuff he was doing, my favourite thing he does involves a line with two huge rails that you really need to see, he literally cemented himself into skateboarding as one of the gnarliest dudes out there with this part and I think any mention of kiddy steez or him being too young will go straight out the window once anyone sees this part.
Overall the video definitely lives up to the hype, after the mega slo mo fest of Fully flared it is rad to have a video which has a really small amount of slo mo and arty stuff and just has straight bangers one after another, no 9 minute three song parts here just straight gnar! Having said that all the filming is really good, the edits are really good and there is a claymation animation to introduce each rider which is pretty sick. Also in Shane Crosses part there is some rad animation that doesn't detract away from the skating and is actually really cool, I want a monket wrapping around my neck in a video part! I was really stoked on the video and it has definitely made me want to go and learn some tricks, which is exactly what a video should do, a whole new step of proggression in skateboarding and if it doesn't cement Flip as one of the greatest skateboard companies out there in kids minds then you all need your heads read!

Volcom@ASR
Remember a few weeks back I was saying that the Black Box tradeshow was rad and ASR was kinda crappy, well I guess Volcom disagree and had a massive mini ramp at ASR this year, the skating is rad, watch out for some of 5Boros Dan Pensyl, Louie Lopez crooks, Justin Brock being alive and general floaty skateboarding!

Pfanner and Schuster.
Euros on the come up! Nick who works in the Tattoo shop above Reskue was asking who Pfanner was the other day, Chris Pfanner is an am on Anti Hero and he absolutely kills it on a skateboard, hes the chap who full Cabbed the Santa Monica triple set.
Schuster is on Blind and had a pretty good part in the Euro montage of the Blind video.

Face Melter!
There has been this little Lakai ad floating around skateboard land for a while now:
Its pretty rad, and Mike Mo seems to be the Lakai stunt pilot, after blowing him up on Fully Flared they get him to do this:
We'll have new Lakais in the next few weeks, the plan is to get a bunch of Manchesters, those kicks are rad.

Good Times! and S.O.T.Y.
This weekend was pretty good for skateboarding in Southampton, first of all Ricardo and Dean Jones put on a little jam at Romsey which seemed to be pretty well received, word on the streets is that Greg blunt fakied the Wallride, Churchills brother Paul was rock and roll sliding it, Ricardo was doing inverted 360's over the jump box, Taters was bigspin flipping the driveway, and Tim Bartelot was close to a mayday on the Wallride! Some pretty sick skating considering it was definitely more based on fun than competition! Ollie Allen who designed the T shirt with my handsome face on took some photos and they are up on Facebook.
Then last night saw the premier of Andy Evans latest venture Heel Toe Magic, there was only a few days notice and it was a Sunday but there was still a few heads there and everyone seemed to enjoy the video, Raemers section is rad and Greg has a full section. The video will be for sale in a couple of weeks.
There has been a lot of talk recently on Skater Of The Year, maybe its just me but people seem to pay a lot more attention to it these days, the Fact Silas won last year took a few people by surprise, but it is Thrasher SOTY so a lot of sway goes into what the skater has done for the magazine (Interviews, Photos, etc) so although everyone is saying Busenitz should get it its looking slightly doubtful, unless he shoots a bunch of photos for Thrasher in the very near future!
Malto is a definite candidate, he has been slaying it all year! He deserves something just for the Noseblunt then back Noseblunt line, but that was in a Transworld vid!
A pretty likely candidate is Grant Taylor, he is only a rookie but his part in Mindfield was amazing, and he quickly followed it up with an amazing part in Debacle too:
He has also had a load of stuff in Thrasher so its looking pretty good for him.
There is also talk of David Gravette, but personally I don't think doing 100's of fifty fifties makes you one of the best skaters in the world, i'm not saying he isn't rad, because he is! But he is definitely lacking on the tech side of things, maybe he'll come through with an amazing part for the Thrasher video and i'll eat my words but I don't think his trick bag is deep enough to be a SOTY.
Taylor FTW!

MEGA BLOG ATTACK!
The slackness in updates has been appalling lately, apologies!
I have been updating our Facebook on the regular, as well as our Twitter.
Here are all the updates I have posted, plus a few more for good measure!
First of all Kurt Winter has a ten tricks:
More kurt-winter Skateboarding >>
Here is an extra one with Shaun Currie too:
More 10-tricks Skateboarding >>
Then Jimmy Carlin had a sick flatground section over at Black Box, Curt can bust a few of these tricks but you'll have to wait for 6:57.
More jimmy-carlin Skateboarding >>
Then Geoff Rowley had a sick First Try Fridays over at the Berrics.
Then there was a really, really, good skate and create. Basically a few different teams have the chance to create whatever they like in a warehouse over a certain time period and make an edit, Etnies won, basically just with Malto alone! That kid is killing it, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if a Skater Of The Year trophy finds its way into his hands soon!
A lot of people were saying they liked the D.C. one but I think the DVS and Etnies ones were the bangers, Circa was pretty rad too tho.
Then I put up a vid of the almosts from the Wallenberg comp, the straight nollie would have been sick!
Then to go with this vid I posted one of Kevin Romar, who was close to blowing minds with this ridiculous back 3 nollie down Wallenberg. I still have heard kids saying they would give the stairs a go so let me re-iterate: they are 22ft long! That is huge!
Then I posted this old vid of one of my favourite personalities in skating, Butteryass Donovan! The reason for the post was we were selling Grape soda, but I sold a crate in 48hrs! More coming soon!
Then Nick Mclouth got recruited into the Berrics, the level of skating is sick, and Nick is another person on the ever growing Stereo team!
Then I posted this vid of the Flip team skating some parks, I don't really need to say they kill it, if you don't know how good the Flip team is there really is no hope for you!
Then we got the new Jak Pietryga pro model in, so here is a few vids of him:

Here is Jaks 360 flip record:
More hold Skateboarding >>
Then more recently there was a comp at the Crossroads retail show at Black Box, if you are retarded then I will need to tell you that a retail show basically consists of a bunch of stands from different companies, showing future products to shop owners to pre order. There used to be a huge show called ASR but it was basically run by idiots and they charged a whole bunch of money for stands, so Jamie Thomas has opened up the Black Box warehouse for his own trade show. This means that Jamie is allowing other companies to get sales, at his own warehouse! Jamie is really supporting skateboarding by doing this, and on the last day they all come together and have a big jam and best trick comp, here is the footage of the comp:
And thats pretty much it! I hope you haven't given up on the blog! We'll have a bunch of important announcements soon so stay tuned to Reskue!
Here is an extra bonus video for you:
Brad Cromer is sick, awesome style and good choice in tricks.
In fact while we are thinking of Krooked, here is the latest catalogue from Deluxe, it has a whole bunch of stuff, including vids, photos, and games! We'll have a bunch of Real, Anti Hero, Krooked and Spitfire stuff soon. Looking at the Real team has got me anticipating the Real vid even more! They have some of the best ams in skateboarding, and a sick pro team too, Torgy, Brock, Chima, James Hardy, all absolutely slay stuff on a skateboard! And they are all as core and down to earth as you can get, most of the Real team would much rather do a demo for some kids inspiring them to keep skating, than enter big corporate comps for jocks to watch on MTV.
Some video announcements are coming tomorrow!

Wakefield comp, J.B. ten tricks, Soton comps
Reskue squad members Marc Churchill and Greg Nowik took a trip up to the comp at Wakefield recently, if you didn't know Marc designed the park and there are some really interesting lines there!
Have a peek at this vid for some footage of the days events, as usual Marc and Greg are killing it!
More concrete-carnival Skateboarding >>
Marc and I went up to Eastleigh bowl the other day to film a Kingpin ten tricks, you'll have to wait to see that but here is a recent one of J.B. Gillet, I didn't film this one!
More jb-gillet Skateboarding >>
I also outputted the Reskue vid last night! That doesn't mean its finished, I still have to output all the extras, (there is over an hours worth) including all the best Something For The Weekend vids, all the episodes of The Adventures Of Joe Paget (There is four so far, with an exclusive one for the vid) and a couple of offcut montages. Then I have to finish the menu and get it made. I'm aware I have said this before, but people kept doing last minute tricks, in fact we have tried to get an ender ender of Paget, with Ranny shooting a possible First Light for Sidewalk, for the last three weeks but just keep getting kicked out!
Paggers is just gonna have to keep the bangers for 6:57, which Crawf was nice enough to give me a preview of the other day, and it is looking ridiculous, the skating is rad and all the filming and editing is as good as you'd expect from the Crawf!
I have heard from a few people that there was some questionable judging at the Shirley comp, unfortunately as I have to be in the shop I can't get out to judge, and its only cos Matt is a nice guy that he has done the commentary and judging for the Merryoak ones, congratulations to the guys that did win some stuff, hope you are rocking the Reskue tee with pride!
Don't forget that is the third comp this summer we have supported, combining this with the SFTW comp around Easter and the Winch comp and that is a lot of stuff I have given away for you guys, so don't be too annoyed if you don't win something every time! There are still plans to do a guerilla comp down at Mayflower with a bit of help from the Rubicon boys and that will be focussed on fun rather than set times and stuff, and there is talk of a comp down at Eastliegh bowl too, anyone would think skateboarding is popular! in the mean time enjoy the sun!
We have had support for all these comps from Bones, Independent, Etnies, Vans, Duffs $lave, Zero, Mystery and Fallen, So if you want to show some support in return then hook yourself up!

Loads of stuff! Flip, Stereo, PJ, DMC Tee Competition!
Been a bit slack on the posts again, sorry! But a bunch of cool stuff has been happening, first of all the legend that is Don Brider (He prints all of our shop tees and stickers) recently got off the phone to the head honcho of Flip, who told him that the Flip vid is premiering in the U.S. on the 16th September, then in England a week later, so around the 23rd!
I go on about this video all the time, but Flip seriously have one of the best teams out there, the ability for them to pick up kids that go on to be top pros is amazing, just look at Bastiens part from 7 years ago and you'll see, flip front boards on 16 stair rails (3:36)that are unmatched today.
Luans part is gonna be ridiculous, that kid is so so good!
Combine this with the all out attack of Geoff Rowley, the straight concrete gnar of Rune Glifberg, a full part from the late Shane Cross and you must see this is gonna be one of the best videos ever!
All the music is being made by Baron, who is apparently big on the DJ scene, what I know about DJs you could write on a stamp, but there is a pretty good insight into the music over on the Flip site HERE and also some vids about it HERE
As well as all the Flip love we have reintroduced Stereo at Reskue, and just as I would have hoped sold the Benny board straight away! We still have a bunch of Stereo decks, and they are good prices too, with the logo decks being only £44.99!
Josiah Gatlyn has a welcome clip over on the Stereo Site, and its just as good as you would expect.
And this morning a Battle Commander from PJ Ladd went up! It starts out really well, but kinda standard, hardflip back tails Stevie was rockin years ago, but then it builds up into some ridiculous stuff - Nollie tre Nose Manny is sick. PJ Kills it, and as always we have some Plan B decks instore so show them some love if your feeling PJs part!
And the last thing is that we finally have the Reskue DMC tees! Available in three colours, the original black and red, a blue with orange print, and a purple with yellow print. The two coloured shirts are meant to be based on something in particular, but nobody seems to have noticed, so the first person to e-mail me where the colours are from gets a free tee! And I know who I have told so you guys can't enter! E mail Andy@Reskue.co.uk - and remember your name!
Here is a pic to give you an idea of the colours:

There is meant to be a comp up at the Shirley Warren park tomorrow, but the weather is looking pretty whack at the moment, hopefully it'll be ok! We are donating prizes for the comp (I know what your thinking "Haven't they donated prizes to three comps already this summer?" yes, yes we have!) so if you are after one of the new tees and have no cash then maybe you should get down there and try and win one!

These big budget comps are pretty lame, but cash seems to bring out some pretty bangin moves, Decenzo kills it in this:

SLACK! Kinda!
So I have been slacking on updates again lately, but not on our Facebook, so maybe you should befriend us on there!
We have been really busy getting the new Reskue tees sorted, I Tie Dyed a whole bunch of tees last night, which now need washing and printing so should be ready mid next week, the DMC tees should be here Tuesday as well.
If you have seen the new Sidewalk you will have seen the ridiculous cover of new blood Pablo Aresu, here is a little welcome clip from the Harmony.
More pablo-aresu Skateboarding >>
Also in Sidewalk is a Jak Tonge First Light, Jak is actually sponsored by Bored in Southsea, but they are close to us so we are stoked for him, also Ranny shot the photo of his sequence which is pretty sick! We have been trying to get some photos of Paget potentially for Sidewalk but security guards don't seem as eager to help young Paggers out!
We are also now selling energy drinks for the summer, and some RCTs! Watch this vid to see what I mean:

10 tricks 2
I'm liking this little series, filmed by Hold Tight Henry and injecting a few moves every monday, its gotta be good!
JB Gillet is coming soon, that should be rad!
The new Reskue tees will be here this week, and we have just had a few copies of the Nike SB Debacle Blu Ray - The first ever full HD skate video! I'm trying to think of the best way to give these bad boys away, i'll keep you posted!
Oh and if you liked the vid of Alex Perelson winning Maloof and doing the 900 first try, then you'll be as pleased as me to know that he skates for Real! Real vid is gonna be SICK!
There is also a ten tricks from Chad Bartie over at Black Box, booming fs ollie!
There is also a new Slave trailer, thats ermmm interesting!

Josiah Gatlyn
Has been recruited over at the Berrics! The whole section is sick, but some people have been hating on his style on the forums, I think his Tres look sick personally, and must feel good when you do them!
Also there is a new Rat Signal from the guys at Slam City up, including DGK soldier Karim with a mega pop shuv over a bench!
As well as this we have some sick new merch coming soon, including these bad boys:

Obviously all the colours are gonna be different, but there are a bunch of different colours and some will be pretty dark and some will be pure hippy!
A whole new design will be with us next week as well, and the DMC tees are being printed and should be here next week too! Reskue tees are bad ass!

Bowl Shralp!
Hope you guys are getting excited about the comps!
Here is a vid of some ridiculous bowl riding, including Christian Hosoi rockin it!
If you guys didn't know Grant Taylor is now pro too! The first boards from him are coming soon!

"I didn't know anything about it!"
Is a sentance I have been hearing a lot recently! I try and let everyone know about stuff, I tell all the skaters that come in store, post stuff on here, and on Facebook, and on Myspace, but I guess I need some help in letting people know about stuff! So tell as many people as you can about all these events! Put it on your facebook status, your Twitter, Your Myspace! Or use that whole in your face to produce sound and tell other people!:
SATURDAY 1ST AUGUST - K2 comp @ HOGLANDS 12pm
I was wondering why they had actually painted the park for once! There are two categories, under and over 16's I believe. We are hooking them up with prizes and have people judging so it should be OK.
TUESDAY 4TH AUGUST - Skate Comp @ VERACITY 1pm
After the last comp, which was pretty much run by the Reskue Squad and Matt Reynolds (Thanks Matt) there is gonna be another one, instead of trying to fit in BMX and Inline too it is just a skate comp so it should be pretty rad.
Both these comps aren't put on by Reskue, we are just hooking up prizes and providing Judges.
Some people might say that these aren't true skate comps as they aren't fully run by skaters, but if we didn't help out they would go ahead anyway, with judges that don't skate and whack prizes!
Also these are the events that show the council and general public how popular skating is, if hundreds of kids turn up then it will only help the idea of having a new skate park that is actually good, so show some support!
I appreciate that some people might not want to enter this kind of thing, and that comps should be based on fun rather than set runs and who is "Better" etc.
That is why even before these comps were announced I was chatting to Chris Pulman, who is the rep for Fallen, about putting on a junk jam down in Mayflower.
We have a pretty sick block and will make a little kicker and some other junk to skate, take that down there with a PA and have a fun day with some Fallen prizes, maybe a game of skate, bring a BBQ along, best trick on the block kinda deal, just a lot more loosely organised and less serious, expect a lot more abuse, drinking, songs with naughty words, Bullying, and damn good skateboarding! Most of the Reskue Squad should be there too, so you can see Curtis annihilate the block for real! This isn't an official comp, so don't expect to bring your family down for a day out, its just a bunch of skaters getting together to have some fun! (Remember that stuff)
Dates for this haven't been decided yet but it'll be mid/late August!
Stay Safe kids!
Also we got a bunch of Science decks in today, they are really nice shapes and graphics and Science are definately legit, so maybe have a look next time your in.

Short and Sweet
Every Monday Kingpin are gonna have a new feature, ten tricks at one spot, the first one is this, Jeremie Daclin on a mini, pretty inventive moves too!
We had a plan to do this sort of thing starting with a five on five feature, but Joe "Tumnus" Paget snapped his board and it got put on hold, but taters is back soon and then you'll have a lot more regular footage from the Reskue squad.
Oh and the Reskue DVD will be out soon too!
In pretty cool news I have sold out of the HTL DVD, I guess thats not good for the people who want one but it shows that you guys are actually still up for supporting independent video projects and buying the DVD! I have ordered another batch and they'll be here soon, so show some support and come and pick up a copy if you haven't already, its seriously bangin!

YOUGOTTOGETTHAT!
My young friend Mike Netley is starting a BMX mag called Case, check it out HERE. Mike has also started skating recently and seems pretty psyched on a lot of the stuff i've put up on the blog, but he sent me a link recently to this vid of Dan Murphy over at Transworld:
In the vid Dan talks about a vid coming through from Cacka, and it looks pretty sick, sections from Dan, Bobby Worrest and Gilbert Crockett to name a few! they have a trailer and site up HERE. take a look!

Hold Tight!
The Hold Tight London DVD arrived yesterday and has already been going pretty well, if you have a fiver kicking about I suggest you come in and get one!
All the filming is bangin, and it is when you have independent releases like this that are filmed and edited really well, that things like the Blind video can be a bit underwhelming. Hold Tight Henry definately deserves to be a full time skate filmer/editor, here is a bit more of his work from the recent King Of Wood Comp, Adrien Bulard (The curly haired dude who does the ridiculous 360 shuv) is clearly amazing.
In shop news I have moved a bunch of stuff around and the shop is looking bangin, we are gonna be getting a bunch of new stuff soon, I know I keep saying that but its true!
We should have the Berrics tees in the next day or two along with a whole bunch of Deathwish boards (4 Antwuan decks!) SB's in a few weeks, Famous and Wild Ones clothing, new IPath shoes, which are looking rad and finally the Fallen footwear!
Things are looking pretty sweet for Reskue at the moment, the Tattoo Studio upstairs is going well, the 6:57 vid is gonna show just how sick some of Southamptons skaters are, and we have a whole bunch of comps and jams coming up too! I'll announce all of that tomorrow though because I know skaters have short attentions spa

Hold Tight London
The HTL DVD is coming in on Tuesday!
Independent skate videos are few and far between these days as you basically make no money at all from them, so its cool that the HTL crew have put out a DVD thats only a fiver, and was made simply for the love of skateboarding.
I have already seen the DVD as Paget and Crawford went to the premier and got a copy, and it definately lives up to the hype, Tanner and Witherup definately skate on a pro level, and do some seriously bangin tricks with steez.
The vid is available to pre order from the Reskue site now and we'll send it out as soon as we get it, so show some support! Also after you have watched the DVD have a look over at the HTL site, and vote on who should win North or South!
Karim is repping South, but Joe Paget ate his Sugar Puffs last time he was in the big smoke so Karim couldn't muster the energy to front shuv up the South Bank 7, otherwise they would definately have taken it! Nice one Paggers!
Talking of bangin tricks with steez we had a sesh over at the NCP last night and Curtis got a few moves.
His part in the 6:57 vid is shaping up to be ridiculously sick.
Paget was too busy going to the cinema to get any bangers, probably stuffing his face with Karims Sugar Puffs all the while.

Ben Gore
Ben Gore is rad, he was in a BATB game against Apples yesterday.
You should have seen it by now so it doesn't matter if Isay he lost, but even so he has a dope style, and when I got this Stereo catalogue through the cover photo was so rad I thought I would share it with you. The colours are rad and a simple ollie is a timeless trick, they will always look good, A lot of kids focus on learning tricks straight away, but having a banging ollie, and therefore big snaps, can get you eveywhere, just ask Andrew Brophy!

Even more slacking!
Ah i'm letting you guys down again! But again I have been pretty busy, the Black Label premier was pretty sick, thanks to everyone who came down, including a bunch of guys from Surrey which was cool, one of them won the deck in the raffle too so it made it even more worthwhile for them. We will have the Label vid available to buy next week, and for those of you that weren't at the premier it is pretty rad, Chris Troy has a whole bunch of handrail NBD's and Shurikens section doesn't dissapoint, some of the new guys came out of nowhere as well, Peter raffins part is pretty bangin, and i'm always gonna be bias where Jason Adams is involved, loads of wallies and wallrides is always good!
Instore we have had a whole bunch of new decks from Plan B, DGK and The Harmony, including the 8 inchers that is definately the most poular size out there at the moment!
I know a lot of you are at NASS, and the good fellas at Sidewalk have footage up from there already! Here is some of the practise, Raemers is killing it and really deserves a podium place, we'll see if its all Vans riders soon enough I guess!
More Skateboarding >>
More Skateboarding >>
There have also been some pretty sick games over at the Berrics, Gilbert Crocketts steez is sick! But if I need to direct you over there then there really is no hope for you! Having said that I have had a couple of kids ask me lately "Have you ever looked at the Berrics?" you guys must have been under a rock! You guys need to tell your friends to check the reskue blog on the regular for a whole bunch of info on the world of skateboarding, spread the word!

Slacking again!
Sorry kids I have been a bit slack on the updates again! but like I keep saying that only happens when I have been busy! We nearly got a banging photo and ender ender of Joe Paget the other night, and I have been working on actually finishing the DVD, just a couple of weeks now and it will actually be here!
As well as this we have one of my friends bands, Sonic Boom Six, playing an exclusive instore acoustic performance this wednesday at 5.00pm
Then it is the Black Label premier on Friday night, details below.

For a sneak preview of the opening montage of the video click HERE!
I reckon its gonna be bangin! lots of you guys i know are big fans of Shuriken, and this is his first ever board sponsor section!
The Berrics has been really good lately the Volcom United Nations was sick.
As were both of this weekends BATB games! 1 and 2

Black Label Premier!

Its all sorted now, Black Label premier is coming! Click the picture below!
And join the Facebook event and confirm your attendance!
I'm really looking foward to it, Jason Adams section in Label Kills is one of my favourite sections ever, here is a rehash of some of his old footage:
Also Lizard King made a bit of history by being the first street skater (apart from Sheckler) to jump the mega ramp, I have heard a lot of kids saying they would try this, you guys need to get a grip, you go off the ramp at around 40mph! There are a lot of mixed opinions on Lizard King, but there is no denying this is pure gnar! Look how far he clears when he is bouncing off the top!

Busy times!
So looking at the blog it has nearly been a week since a post and it is meant to be daily! Shocking! All it means is that I have been busy, if you had added us on FACEBOOK you would have got a good few little links tho!
So Battle At The Berrics has snuk up and started again, Chris Cole played Mike Vallely on saturday, and Jamie Thomas played Dennis Busenitz on sunday. The Cole game was a bit of a joke, and if you fancied expressing your opinion on it then HERE is a good place to start!
There was also the CPH pro contest in Copenhagen, there was a live stream but by the time I had posted it people would have missed it, again if you were a Facebook friend you would have seen it! Anyway T Puds won, and I thought it was a bit suspect seeing he is sponsored by DVS and so was the event, but he was truly killing it! fs flip the electrical box and bs smith flip out, both video worthy tricks and he did them in a comp! Koston was killing it too tho.
Jamie Thomas also has a new ten tricks over at the Black Box site, Jamie still rips, and you guys obviously agree cos I sold two JT decks this weekend.
In closer to home news the reason I couldn't update the blog one day was because myself and Reskue friend Ranny went to meet up with Southsea local Jak Tonge so Ranny could shoot some photos for his First Light in Sidewalk, Jak is seriously good and got a couple of sequences in a matter of minutes, but you'll have to wait to see them.
Ranny also brought in a bunch of his photos and put them up on the walls of Reskue last week, it adds a bit of character to the store and shows the rippage of the Reskue team so check them out next time you are in.
I guess thats it for now, I finally have got the blog to not look too crappy on the main site too, so if you have this bookmarked then maybe just look at the main Reskue site from now on, cos then you'll know bout all the new products too!

Familia Video
I'm stoked on this video! If you didn't know (I'd hope some of you are as geeky as me, but you probably aren't) Familia is Steve Nessers shop (The Birdhouse pro) I toyed around with a name based on Family for the shop but Familia was taken! Empire skate building was another one, but it was ABD and kinda cheesy, anyway.
Familia do pretty well to support the scene out there, and the skating and spots in the vid are both rad, its funny seeing Tony Hawk and Danny Montoya pop up in there (They share some sponsors with Steve) Jamiel Nowpavar has pretty good gangster white boy steez too! Scene vids and shop vids are really good lately, maybe because they actually show people having fun rather than just full on hammers and bangers! The look on the dudes face when he lands the frontside wallride says it all! Hope you enjoy it as much as me!
Oh and the reskue vid is coming, soonish! Maybe a couple more weeks!

Hold Tight/Mallorca/K Swiss!?
Hold Tight London vid should be out soon, it'll be the first British video out in a while (apart from smaller scene vids) and its gonna be banging, here is a bit of footy from some of the HTL crew at the newish park at Mile End in the big smoke:
Also you may have heard the news Greg Lutzka is on K Swiss! Unexpected and a bit strange, people have very mixed opinions on this!
Here is a vid of Lutzka starting to design his shoe!
Also there is some footage of a whole crew of rad UK guys on a Mallorca trip a few years back, some of the footy you may recognise from Danny Bradys Lost and Found part!
I have had a few people ask about the new Blueprint stuff, unfortunately Blueprint is distributed by TKC now, which is owned by the same people as Route One, and therefore we are not going to be stocking it. Oh and we aren't getting K Swiss anytime soon either! Hope you don't lose sleep about that.

Add us up! Plan B/Shake Junt/Biebel
If you are a facebooker then add Reskue as a pal, you will get even more love from Reskue and know stuff even quicker than this blog!
There is a welcome to summer clip from Plan B HERE, in Plan B news Jereme Rogers has retired! That is kinda wierd but its genuinely true, I have no idea what he is gonna do with his life, i'm guessing having "I fear no man" tattooed on your neck doesn't go down too well at interviews!
Biebel has a Battle Commander over at the Berrics and its pretty damn good!
I dunno if I said already but we have the new Powell DVD in and its really really good!
Each person has a ridiculous ender!
Also there is a Shake Junt promo up HERE, if you like faux gangsters then its pretty bangin!

HMMMM + United By Fate!
You may be wondering why the blog looks wierd today, basically I spent a bit of time playing with it today to embed it on the actual Reskue site, it works but i dunno if i like it, I wanted to make it so you didn't have to go to two seperate sites, you could simply go to Reskue.co.uk and get your fill of news and new products!
Anyway if you think thats a good idea, or stupidly crap then e mail me andy@reskue.co.uk and let me know!
In the mean time her is the latest Globe United By Fate, and its Bangin too!
I reduced even more stuff instore today too, so all the jeans are now half price, and they are actually on the website too!

Famous video
The fall Famous line should be arriving with us in the next three weeks, and I have had a few people ask about Famous link to skating, they actually have a pretty sick team and have been filming for a video set to be released in the winter, all I know is a new Darren Harper part would be bangin!
The new trailer only went up yesterday:
Here is a reminder of the mega pop of Darren Harper:
Also if you are in the mood for some East Coast skating it is the Zoo York video premier at Orange Rooms tonight.

Andy Evans videos!
I would hope that most of you have seen This N That, or Straight To Video:
both of which are skate videos made by Andy evans which have parts from Reskue riders Greg Nowik and Marc Churchill.
Andy is just about to release a new video which is bound to be full of awesome skating and stupidity in equal measure!
Here is a trailer:
And here is Evans look at the new Wakefield park, with an interview with the designer Mr Marc Churchill.
To say Marc is doing positive things for skateparks in the UK would be an understatement, we just need one in Southampton!

Reskue Tees!
So I posted a few days ago that we were gonna be getting more Reskue tees in, and its starting now - the classic Jars logo tee is back! All the Reskue tees are gonna be £14.99 or 2 for £25! (which means £12.50 each dumbass!) You can spread out the 2, so if you and a mate want one each on two different cards for example, thats fine! £12.50 is a bit of a bargain for a tee these days, so grab a homie and get some!
we also have it as a hood, its not exactly hood weather at the moment, but after a session when the mosquitos attack they are worth their weight in gold!
Take a look at the Jars tee HERE, they are pretty limited so get on it! The DMC tee is coming next and I have a few other designs on the go at the moment so we'll see which one comes out top!

BATB2 Competition
Hi guys! It's me, Taters! I'm blogging again today because Andrew is too excited about Battle at the Berrics 2 that he can't contain himself! The brackets are now online here! So fill it in and you may win the actual skateboard the winner uses in the finals! There is also a printable version avalible so fill one of those out and bring it in to the shop and the person who get's the nearest to the actual results at the end of the championships will win a couple of Reskue t-shirts! How about that ?
Now go skateboarding!
Now go skateboarding!

New Black Box - Sale decks - Chapman vid.
A whole bunch of new stuff from Zero, Mystery and Slave should be arriving tomorrow, and we are gonna be one of the first shops to have some of it! The Mystery Mariachi series are brand spanking new, as is the Garret Hill Zombie deck in a nice big size - 8.125. We'll have a bunch of the wheels as well as some clothing and restock of the boards we got recently, including the zombie series.

We have also just had a few Santa Cruz and Flip decks restocked, which are going straight out at a sale price! So come get involved if you after a new deck, they won't be around for long.
We also got some Doh Doh upgrade kits which have a full set of bushings and bushing cup washers, so you don't have to worry what fits with what!
Also we got a few copies of the Chapman video, Short Ends, which has the first part from Jake Johnson, who then got snapped up by Alien Workshop and had one of the best parts in recent memory in Mindfield, so if you are a Jake Johnson fan then maybe get yourself a copy - its only £5!
All online tomorrow morning!

Real Decks, Dinosaur JR vid
So while I was writing that rant I got an e mail from our friends at Shiner saying they have first of the new summer Real decks, and they are sick! Horror movies with G rap lyrics? Two of my favourite things! They will be in the new SUMMER catalogue over at deluxe, but the Real section isn't up yet! Check out the Anti Hero videos on there!

I have just done my order for this week but i'm sure we'll get some of these bad boys next week, I know I will anyway!
Anyway i'm off to see Dinosaur JR tonight, they have always had songs in Alien Workshop videos and are always pretty close to skating, even closer in their latest video:

You lucky, lucky people! SK8MAFIA and sponsorship.
I love it when stuff like this happens, you hear of free videos out there in webland, and you watch them and they are actually ridiculously sick!
The SK8MAFIA am video is available to watch in high quality for free, and the standard of skating is so so high! I don't wanna pick highlights cos i'll be here all day but the lipslide to switch crook crail grab is pretty bangin! I reckon you are pretty lucky getting such good vids for free!
Following from yesterday I wanted to clear up a few myths, a few kids came in yesterday and said, "We can get decks for £25 somewhere else" they weren't buying a deck, they just decided to tell me, and wondered why they should pay more for a deck so once again I feel like I should tell you: Pretty much any deck you find that is under £30 is gonna be a mass produced, Chinese made deck, they make them in huge numbers as it keeps the cost down, but they are almost always only in three sizes 7.5, 7.75 and 8" and are normally pretty crappy quality - skateboards come in so many more sizes, and if you don't ever get to try out other sizes because you only buy cheap boards you might never realise you prefer a different size.
I personally like skating 8 1/8 boards with a slightly longer wheelbase (the gap between your trucks) as it feels really solid under my feet cos i'm pretty tall, so I seem to get $lave or Real boards normally because they make this sort of size, all good companies will make a whole bunch of different sizes, and because they make fewer boards they have to be more expensive, couple this with the fact they have to pay a pro to keep skating, and pay filmers and editors to make videos, which now get given away for free! and you should be able to understand why pro boards cost more.
Without pro skateboarding there would be no videos to post up on here for free everyday, so look at your favourite pro, see if he has a shape you like and then you can directly support him by buying his board, pros normally get around $2 to $5 from the sale of each board, so I have definately bought Jon Allie and Peter Ramondetta a few beers lately!
The other thing here is in regard to being sponsored, most sponsors want to see a decent video these days, and if they can see you are riding cheap or blank boards in your sponsor me video then why would they waste time on hooking you up when you aren't trying to support pro skateboarding?
Joe Paget pretty much just skates Harmony boards these days, and when he gets round to finishing his 6:57 part and I show it to Harmony, the fact he is always riding Harmony boards in the video is only going to help his chance of getting flowed a few boards!
the same thing has happened with Reskue rider Darren Tate, he has been wearing Duffs for a while now and has now managed to get a Duffs flow, they wouldn't have sponsored him if he wore a different brand all the time!
Basically what i'm saying is, if you like someone or a certain company then show them some love and support them, and one day they might support you back!
With this in mind i'd be stoked if a kid watched the SK8MAFIA vid, looked HERE and decided he wanted a SK8MAFIA deck, and asked me to order one in for him - but we'll see!

Summer Sale - Reskue tees - Soton park
So the all clothing half price sale has ended, but we have kept all clothing from: Altamont, Cliche, Independent, Duffs and Nomis at HALF PRICE!
A lot of people asked why the clothing was half price, a bit of an odd question I thought, "never look a gift horse in the mouth" definately applies here.
But anyway, it was on sale so we can clear it and bring you a whole bunch of new Reskue tees, unfortunately a lot of clothing has gone up in price due to the fall in the value of the £ against the $, this would mean things like the new Indy tees would have to be £25 instead of £20, so instead of getting clothing in that skaters just can't afford we will get a bit of the best designs, then get a lot of Reskue tees in which we can put out at a good value price, those of you that saw the original Reskue tees will know the designs were rad, and we use local artists to do the designs which supports our scene, so you will be seeing some new designs real soon, starting with the Run DMC style tees in three colours. You'll be pleased to know the Jars design by Tibs, which was also our first deck, will be reappearing in new colourways too!
I'm stoked that people want to represent Reskue and support our scene, and if you have any ideas for graphics or artists you would like tees from then just let me know!
Ok last thing for today, a lot of people have asked about getting a new skatepark in Southampton, I mentioned in a little speech at the SFTW prizegiving we wanted to do something about this, but it takes time! Councils are notoriously slow at getting things done, and while I have seen a couple of different Facebook groups about getting a new park, without meaning to sounding negative, that just doesn't work, Do you really think what happens on Facebook has any effect on the city council? It needs to be something they will actually see!
Marc mentioned once about getting a design done for a park, which we would put in the shop along with a petition saying that a park of this style is what we want built, a good mix of transitions and plaza style stuff is needed so everyone has something to skate, but getting a design done by a park company normally costs a lot, they need quotes for prices from all different builders, quotes for materials and it also uses very expensive programs and techniques, you can't just do a drawing! - It doesn't work that way!
When things get rolling we'll let everyone know though, I want a park here as much as everyone else, just think when Mayflower park was here (for the kids that were too young, Mayflower was a rad park down in the Mayflower park from 1996 to around 2002)the use of a hassle free park produced Landscape pro Joey Pressey, Stereo pro Benny Fairfax, and half the guys that are on the Reskue team. Good parks make good skaters, simple!

Sponsorship/Churchill Interview
Kids ask me funny things sometimes, a kid just asked me "Who is on the Reskue team?" I said it say on our site, and he said he'd looked at it?!
Anyway a few kids have asked about the team and sponsorship lately, pretty much since the demo at Veracity.
If you are a proggresive skater in Southampton then chances are I know who you are, that might sound stupid as you may think "I'm ripping down the park every day, and the Reskue team never come here so how would they know?" You have answered your own question there, if you skate the same places all the time YOU WILL NEVER GET SPONSORED, to be sponsored you need to positively represent Reskue all over the place, all of the Reskue team skate loads of different places all the time, and with a good attitude! Being a good skateboarder is not enough to get sponsored, if you have a bad attitude then you aren't going to be inspiring anyone, and you aren't gonna get sponsored!
Hope that helps you out!
Just so you know the Reskue team all have profiles HERE.
Marc Churchill, who happens to be the person I have known the longest that rides for Reskue, has an interview HERE that appears in Huck magazine.
To be honest I have no idea what Huck is, but the interview is good anyways!

The Gonz and Awadh
Hi! Taters here, I'm relieving Andrew of his blog duties today. Fourstar have posted a day in the life of Mark Gonzales today as he is now 40! So this proves that you can keep skating even when you get elderly, check the bangin' frontboard!
Also Awadh Mohammed came first at Wild in the Parks at Revolutions skatepark the other day ( it's mega fun there ) Check his tre over the big driveway! I did it a while back but not nearly as smooth as his one! Duffs ftw!

Hecka Goings On! - Wallenburg and Etnies demo.
So this weekend was pretty busy in the skateboard world! first of all the Wallenburg comp, a hell of a lot went down, a few notable people were missing but here is the Thrasher vid from the event, and the youtube version for all the Iphone geeks who can't use flash (nice aren't I)
Chris Cole back 3 was second try! but for pure smoothness Lindsey Robertsons back heel takes the cake, it looks like he is doing it off a curb its so smooth! but thats 22ft hes clearing I believe.
Opinions on Lizard King are pretty divided, I have heard people say he is "pure aids" but other people think he was pretty creative, as rad as the ollie disaster thing is, does it look good? Hmmm.
Anyway there was talk of Blueprints Neil Smith going out there for this, and it appears he had a couple of tries at a nollie heel then Jake Phelps, the editor of Thrasher, told him to sit down and stop trying, apparently there were loads of people there and if you weren't getting close you got moved off, but the story goes that Adam Dyet was just flinging sw back heels and getting nowhere near and wasn't stopped from trying, Smithy was understandably pissed off apparently, you can hear Phelps calling him out on this video about a minute in:
and that is stills at the beginning, just keep watching!
A lot of brits are saying Smithy should go do it anyway and have it as a Blueprint ad.
Anyway Sheckles wasn't there because he was at the Etnies demo at Bay 66 in London, here is some footage of that, personally I think the Davis torgerson footage is the best, that kid straight kills it, the Nollie Inward Heel is bangin!
Along with this the Berrics have had some ridiculous stuff up recently, including a Bangin from Wieger, who you may know is one of my favourite skaters so I was pretty stoked, the tailslide flip out is butters beyond belief! and then a day or two later this recruits from Ben Fisher which is also ridiculous! its going to get increasingly harder for people to do new stuff at the Berrics, but these boys seem to be coming through!
